John had worked for St. Edwards University Physical Plant as a painter for over 20 years. He had been a scuba diver and had spent many years diving in the Caribbean. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Road King and was a member of the Cowboy Harley Davidson HOG Owners Group. He was an active member of Capital Cowboy Church.
He was predeceased by his father, Frank Reininger and his mother, Hermina Reininger. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Reininger, his brother and sister-in-law, Frank Reininger, Jr. and Linda Reininger of Austin, two sisters and brother-in-law, Alice and Wayne Sandhal of Burnet, TX, Deborah Klefstad of Buda, TX and four nephews. Also, two step-children, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many other family members.
In lieu of flowers donations made be made to the Capital Cowboy Church or Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA).
The attire for the funeral service is to be very informal and casual.
