Joseph N. Liccese, 78, died peacefully Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Trinity Care Center in Round Rock, Texas following a long illness. He was born June 7, 1937 in Bronx, New York to parents Joseph and Emilia Luccese, first generation immigrants from Italy. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force enlisting when he was eighteen. He was assigned to Ellington Air Force Base in Houston, Texas and as fate would have it he met and fell in love with his “Yellow Rose of Texas”, Lynn Chandler. They married eight months later and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He rose quickly through the military ranks to Staff Sergeant, Medical Service Specialist at USAF Hospital. After an honorable discharge from the military he went into sales and eventually, through hard work and sheer determination, built a successful industrial water treatment business. Joe’s main desire in life was to provide everything he could for his wife and family and in this too he was immensely successful.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandson Raymond Mateo.
He is survived by his wife Lynn Liccese, son Joseph J. Liccese and wife Margot, daughters Teresa Thomas, Tammy Ybarra and husband Andrew, Sharon Mateo, grandchildren Kasey Mateo, Nicole Barrios and husband Gabe, AJ Ybarra, and great-granddaughter Abigail Barrios.
Visitation will be at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks, in Pflugerville, TX, from 9:30am-11:00am, Thursday, December 31. A military graveside service will follow at 11:00am.
