Joseph Christopher Martinez

Joseph Christopher Martinez, 35, was a loving father, son, brother and uncle. He passed away on September 26, 2021. He was born in San Marcos, TX on June 30, 1986 to Yolanda C. Garcia and was raised by Yolanda and his stepfather, Daniel Garcia. Joseph was preceded in death by his older brother, Rene Pavia and grandparents, Consuelo (Ruth) Chagoya along with other family members.

Joseph worked as an Electronic Technician. He loved spending time with family, friends and going to games. He also liked playing baseball and basketball on his off days. His favorite teams were the Texas Longhorns, San Francisco 49ers and the Boston Red Sox. Joseph always knew how to make light of any situation. If you were having a bad day, he would definitely have you smiling with his silly ways. We will miss him every day and cherish all the good and silly times we had. We will see him again and will love him forever. He will never be forgotten and will always be loved.

Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph C. Martinez, Jr; daughter, Makayla Martinez; mother, Yolanda (Daniel) Garcia; brother, Edward Pavia; sister, Leanna Kapahu (Juan Morales); nieces, Marissa Pavia, Alyssa Pavia, Leilani Kapahu, Kaylee Kapahu and Justine Pavia; nephews, Zachary Pavia, Jeremy Pavia, Julian Pavia, Mikeal Morales and Marcus Morales.

A visitation for Joseph will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. A Memorial Mass will occur Saturday, October 30, 2021 1:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave, Austin, TX 78704.
