

Juanita Fister Allenson, age 83, passed away peacefully in a local Temple care facility on April 13, 2011, after a lengthy illness. Juanita was born to Isam and Dena Judd on March 22, 1928, in Wellington, Texas. Born 11th of 14 children, she told numerous stories of a wonderful childhood growing up in the Texas Panhandle. She cherished the memories of a loving family life and the continued closeness she shared with her brothers and sisters throughout adulthood.
Juanita was preceded in death by her loving first husband of 54 years; the Reverend Paul Fister, infant daughter; Paula Sue, four sisters and seven brothers. She is survived by her loving second husband of ten years; Ray Allenson, two daughters; Pamela Walker and husband, Billy of Union, KY, Ginger Lina and husband, Mike of Lexington, TX, stepson; David Allenson and wife, Mary, a stepdaughter; Duby Baxter and husband, Loran, seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eleven great- grandchildren as well as two loving sisters; Helen Wisdom of Amarillo, TX , Janell Standifer of Yukon, OK and dozens of nieces and nephews.
Juanita’s grandchildren were the highlight of her life and she enjoyed them to the fullest. She spent endless hours sewing for them and cooking their favorite desserts. Her love of children was demonstrated by the many years she taught Sunday School, even creating the first Children’s Church in the early 1960’s. She was a faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, Austin for many, many years.
After working for 20 years Juanita retired from the IRS in Austin as a supervisor in Correspondence Examination. She made many long lasting friendships and will be long remembered for her gentle, loving nature who loved life to the fullest. She was always giving of herself and doing for others.
Funeral services will be held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home in Pflugerville on Monday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. Services will be conducted by the Revered Barry Chinn. Honorary pallbearers are: Kyle Walker, Trenton Schneider, Monroe Schneider, Bruce Padgett, Brad Partee and Derek Schumpert. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations be made to the Fellowship Bible Class “Mission Fund”, Woodlawn Baptist Church, 2600 Manchaca Road, Austin, TX.
