

Judith Ann Stockton (nee West) of Austin, TX passed away peacefully on June 26, 2016 in Austin, just two days after her 85th birthday. Judy graduated from Austin High School in 1949 and attended the University of Texas at Austin. She worked for the Department of Public Safety as a clerk in the identification bureau. After some time at home raising kids, she began work as an editor in the Registrar’s office at the University of Texas. Earlier in life, she was active at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection as a member of Episcopal Church Women (ECW) as well as Altar Guild. She was a volunteer for Medi-Wheels, Aqua Fest, and the 1946-1950 Austin High School Reunion committee. Judy enjoyed traveling, reading, needle crafts and birding.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, James Evan Stockton of Austin, daughter Barbara Stockton Cordova and husband Antonio Cordova of Kerrville; son David Evan Stockton and wife Sheila Lopez of Lockhart; grandsons Stephen Evan Cordova of San Marcos; and Marcos Edward Cordova of Seguin; sisters Nancy Cooke of Evans, Georgia, Priscilla Singer of Houston, and Susan Gaddis of Austin; one niece and several nephews.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Judy will be conducted by the Reverend William D. Tweedie at 11:30 a.m. Saturday July 2, 2016 at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 2200 Justin Lane, Austin, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.
