Judy Dianne Casey

Judy moved to Austin after graduating from Gonzales High School in 1963, working first for Radiation Corporation, the University of Texas and then the motor vehicle section of the Texas Highway Department. Judy started working for Bob Bullock in 1975, first in the campaign office, then as one of the first to work for him in the front office. Judy stayed on at the Comptroller’s after Bob Bullock was elected Lt. Governor, working in Tax Administration and Open Records until her retirement in 1999.

Charles and Judy married in April 1986. The couple enjoyed playing dominoes, hosting backyard BBQ’s, attending church together and even making an occasional trip to Vegas.

Judy was a life member of the Auxiliary of VFW Post 8787 and associate life member of the Marine Corps League Detachment 318.

She was preceded in death by her parents Avis Ailene Kelley DeBerry and Vestal August DeBerry; Brothers Malcolm and Jimmie Deberry and Sister JoNell Johnson.

Judy is survived by her husband Charles; daughter, Kimberly Anderson Petrie and husband Scott Elliott, granddaughter, Courtney Stewart and husband Keith; great granddaughter Primrose Irelynn and grandson Andrew Petrie.

She is also survived by her stepson Jeff Casey and his wife Jennifer and their daughters Taylor and Lauren, stepson Chris Casey, his wife Lisa and their son Kye and daughter Karly; sisters-in-law, Dorothy DeBerry and Beverly DeBerry; brother-in-law, George Casey and numerous nieces and nephews.
