Julia Fonseca Lopez, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2018 at her home in Austin, Texas surrounded by her family. Her faith and devotion to God comforted her and her family throughout her illness and ultimately gave her peace. Julia both entered this life and passed from this life on April 12. She was 96 years of age.
Julia was born on April 12, 1922 in Luling, Texas to the late Cruz Fonseca and Edubiges Vickie Aguero. Julia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, caregiver and friend to so many. She can be forever remembered for love of family and her open door policy at her home. Anyone and everyone was always welcome; here she loved and cared for all who entered. Julia was a second mom to all the friends of her children. She loved cooking and ensuring everyone was fed and happy. She enjoyed flowers and animals of all kinds. She had a true heart of gold and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Julia married Patricio Lopez on December 14, 1946 at Emanuel Methodist Church, Austin, Texas.
She is survived by three sons, Patricio Lopez Jr. and his wife Deborah Lopez of Spring Branch, Texas, Robert Lopez of Austin, Texas, Mario Lopez of Austin, Texas, daughter, Rose Ann Lopez of Austin, Texas and daughter-in-law Yolanda Gonzales of Bastrop, Texas as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great grandchildren as well as many extended family members. She is preceded in death by her husband Patricio Lopez Sr. and son Raymond Gonzales Sr.
A Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home with Joel Salas officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
