It was with sadness that I read in the Aggie Archives of Kathleen’s passing. She and I both went to St. Francis and St Agnes & our mothers were friends. We didn’t do a lot together, but there’s always the W. 7th St. bond between schoolmates. I think we just kind of had a mutual admiration for each other and strong women, and that must flowed into following each other, because I also lived in Texas - Euless!

Kathy was always one of the most caring people I knew. She would constantly ask if I need or want anything and would always make sure I know that she cares about me. Anytime I had anything coming up, she would make it known that she wants to be there. Even while she was in Texas, she always made it a priority to make sure her friendly presence was known and that she wanted to see me and talk every chance we got. The phone conversations we had would be endless and every time we got off the phone I just remember saying to myself “that was really nice of her.”

Kathy was always such a positive person! Everywhere she went, she’d bring out the beauty of the moment. Kathy brought attention to the simple things - the fall leaves, the summer sun, a fresh blanket of snow - even when they’re so easy to forget in the busy day-to-day. 

Kathy inspires me to live life to the fullest. She will live on forever in the ways she’s impacted so many of us! 

Kathy was one of my favorite cousins because she was so sweet  and genuinely good. I will always remember her as a girl, who looked like  a red-haired Debbie Reynolds, but acted without conceit but abounded in cheerfulness and kindness.

Kathy took care of our two oldest children from 1997 through 2001. This is a photo of our oldest, Danielle, and our third child, Erika that was born in 2001. Our son, Bradley isn’t pictured here because he was sometimes a little camera shy 😉 We can’t thank Kathy  enough for the love, happiness, and care she provided not only our children, but my husband, Doug, and myself during this time. Her bright smile and cheerful voice was there with us for so many months! 

This is a photo of our son, Bradley, 23, who is now a computer game developer and entrepreneur and our daughter, Danielle , 25, who is finishing medical school and will soon begin a residency to become a pediatric ICU specialist. Kathy was a key part of their infancy and toddler years and really got them off to a great start! She was so good about keeping up with them on birthdays and holidays as they grew up! As you can see, her smile must have rubbed off on them! 

Dear Barbara & Nancy and their families,

My condolences to all of you in the loss of your big sister. It’s difficult to lose any member of one’s family. I will never forget Kathy’s smile and that she was really different than the both of you. I mean that in a good way. The oldest child is always different. 

 I sing a song of healing & love to all your family members. You both are in my heart and mind.

Looking thru all the beautiful photos brings tears to my eyes as I remember all the good times my sister and I shared.  Kathy had a very full life with many fun experiences all over the globe as she traveled with her husband and children.  Kathy was a wonderful sister and I will miss her dearly.   My heartfelt condolences to  her loving husband and daughters.  Kathy was my big sister and she often would take care of me as a child.  She would always let me come in her room when she was playing records with her girlfriends. She taught me the "twist" and I remember dancing with her.  My sister had a love of music and she had a beautiful voice.  She loved ice skating at the skating rink at Adams.  She was the Queen of handwritten notes with her "stickers".   As autumn approaches, I will remember how she loved Minnesota and the colorful leaves.  I will always cherish the good memories.

I only knew dear Kathy in the last 6 or so years but she was a bright, positive light.  I always felt like she was my cheerleader and I loved her for it.   She always brought me something lovely when she & Jack attended parties at my house.  She’s truly unforgettable . 

My whole heart is with this beautiful family, I really enjoy the walks from her apartment to her car always by Mr. Janisch side , she had always a conversations, I remember when Mr. Janisch was  sick and she was taking care of him even if she can barely walk they went always together , I’m only know her per 2 years but they’re the most beautiful couple I’m ever seen , so much love together , she was always talking about her grandkids , MN , and all the trips she made with Mr. Janisch all around the world , I know She’s with Mary Virgen and enjoying the eternal life in God’s arms ., thanks for share this beautiful day with us.
