

Leslie Hugh Lewis loving husband, father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend was born March 31, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas to Ercel Hugh and Connie Pearl (Kinsel) Lewis and passed away at his home on February 11, 2025 at the age of 83. He was a man that loved to teach others, from being a Professor to restoring old cars, there was a lesson to be learned. He enjoyed hunting arrowheads, scuba diving in the lakes of Texas and was an amateur radio operator. He worked as an operations manager for Texas Instruments, Xerox, Tracor, Applied Materials and Lockheed Martin as a Finance Manager Control Staff. He obtained his MBA from the University of North Texas and a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University; He also served in the National Guard and was an ordained minister. Some of his achievements in his career were creating the next generation of Leaders by developing and in studying courses in operations, leadership, economics, finance, management and marketing.
He and Carolyn were married on June 28, 1961. She was his high school sweetheart at Connally High School in Lacy Lakeview, Texas, near Waco. In 1969, they moved to Austin from Richardson, Texas, following a transfer from Texas Instruments.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Lewis; his sons, Steven Lewis and Mike Lewis; his grandchildren, Nathan Lewis, Destin Lewis, Ethan Lewis, Mystere Lewis, Angelina Lewis, Soleil Lewis, Taylor Nurberg, and Tyler Nurberg; as well as three great-grandchildren and other cherished family members.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Jeffery, Glenn, Barbra, so many others, along with the close friends and family whose kindness and support made his final months more comfortable.
He would like to be remembered as an Educator that inspired adults to continue learning.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 14, 2025 at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home at 9:30am with burial following at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
