Lynn was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, eldest of three children. She attended Tulane University and graduated with a BA from Louisiana State University. (Geaux Tigers!) She was a faithful member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and kept that association throughout her life.
Lynn began her career with the U.S. Foreign Service and was stationed in LaPaz Bolivia, Germany and Karachi Pakistan and traveled extensively throughout Europe and India. It was in Karachi Pakistan where she met her future husband, John Henry Frasch, who was also stationed at the U.S. Embassy. She loved to share her fond memories and stories of her extensive travels.
After many years overseas, she moved back to the states to get married and settled in Austin. She gave up her career in the Foreign Service to raise a family, but never lost her love for travel and continued to travel throughout the U.S. with her husband and family. She also furthered her career as a manager and accountant in state and local government while raising her four children.
Lynn is survived by her sisters Colleen Van Cleave and her husband Dryden of Front Royal, Virginia and Betty King of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
She is also survived by her daughter Karen Shugart of Austin, and sons Jay Frasch and wife Dotty of Austin, Neal Frasch and wife Theresa of New Braunfels and Brian Frasch of Austin.
Her pride and joy were her six grandchildren, Audra and Alysha Shugart, Michelle and Kyle Frasch, and Curren and Duncan Frasch.
It must have been a heck of a ride
Rest in Peace Mom
