Our beloved mother, Lynn Joy Liccese passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, after a 10-year journey with Alzheimer's disease. She is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior and is completely whole again with all her memories intact.
Lynn was born in Houston, Texas on March 5, 1938, to Virginia Bell Chandler Smith and Verland James Chandler. She met her husband, Joseph N Liccese, as a young girl and they were married shortly thereafter on November 19, 1955. They remained married until his passing on December 27, 2015. They had four children, Teresa A Thomas, Joseph J Liccese (Margot Koslan), Tammy L Ybarra (Andrew Ybarra), and Sharon K Mateo, and 4 grandchildren (Kasey Mateo, Nicole Mateo, Raymond Mateo, and Aaron J "AJ" Ybarra), and 2 great-grandchildren (Abygail Barrios and Niko Henriquez). Lynn's home was her castle, and it was always immaculate just as she was. Never a hair out of place, always dressed beautifully.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents (John O Bell Sr and Florence Backer Bell), siblings (Diane Gonzales and Richard Chandler), husband, grandson (Raymond Mateo), and sons-in-law (Rick L Thomas and Pete Mateo).
There will be a graveside service to be attended by her children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
