Mack was born on March 10, 1936 in Creedmoor, TX to Jose Tobias Loera and Oljeria (Herrera) Loera. He lived his life to the fullest and always put family first. He was pulled out of the seventh grade to work in the cotton fields of central Texas. He made a honest living and worked his way from picking cotton to manning the BBQ Pits at the Original Shady Grove Bar-B-Que and retiring from Miller Blue Print in Austin, TX. He loved to cook, whether it was working the pit or making his famous Menudo. There was not a time he did not make sure his family went without; he was a hard worker.
Mack had a love for baseball and softball. He played the guitar, accordion and played in a band. He was the rock of the family and cared for all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a husband, father, a grandfather, a provider, supporter, trickster, jokester, loving in his own quiet way, giving, hard worker, sustainer, and a great man.
Mack is preceded in death by his father, Jose; mother, Oljeria; brothers, Frank and Jose; and sisters, Louisa and Francis. He is survived by his wife, Lidia; his son, Joe and wife, Debra Loera; his daughter, Diane Robinson and significant other, Tracy Ruiz; his five grandchildren: Nicholas and his wife, Ashley Loera, Alex and his wife, Diana Loera, Ashley Robinson, Michael Loera, Angel Loera; his 11 great grandchildren: Isaac, Savanna, Dominic, Delilah, Noah, Daniel, Ashlyn, Jasmyn, Alijah, Julian and Alondra; his great-great grandchild to-be, Josiah; his brother, Albert; and sisters, Lupe, Mary, and Beatrice.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday September 4th, 2020 at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. There will be a Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5th, 2020 at San Jose Catholic Church located at 2435 Oak Crest Ave, Austin, TX 78704. After the Mass, the Funeral Procession will make its way to Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to the Funeral Home.
