The Homecoming Soldier
On January 06,2011 a soldier finally goes home..Now your probably thinking that his family is full of joy when they hear this. Instead the whole family shed's tears of shock and grief, others wail in morn for the soldier. His sons and daughters and wife shed the most tears. The pastors come and friends and family hug and try to give each other support. His wife refuses to leave his side ; she holds his hand and brushes his hair with the other. Everyone stares at him with longing and grief. People care constantly hugging,kissing and rubbing his old wrinkled skin. Tissue boxes are always having to be replaced with new ones. People come into his room and put him on a stretcher, and then zip him up in a bag and put him into the back of a car. One of them tells us sorry for your loss; We all nod and watch them drive away. As I think about it now I should be happy for my Grandpa; because his duty was done as God's soldier and as a reward he is now finally home. Grandpa may you rest in peace and continue to tell your jokes to tia Sylvia and God.

To the Torres Family. We would like to say how sorry we are to hear of your loss of your beloved husband, dad and grandpa. We remember how Bro. Torres always had a smile on his face every time we would see him at church and everywhere he went. He will be greatly missed. We love you and will continue to pray for you during this time. Rev. My Hero, my gift from God has gone home to be with our heavenly father. I have so many wonderful memories like waking up with Mommy to help her make your breakfast, you even made me my own little tortilla rolling pin, then you would eat my crooked tortilla first with a big smile telling me what a great job I did, then I would run to kiss you goodbye and wave bye looking out the window as you went off to work. Then I remember sitting anxiously on the porch with my friends waiting for you to get home. When you got home you would swift me up into the air saying free airplane ride. I would laugh with you, I really felt I could touch the clouds as you lifted me higher and higher, then you would do the same to my little friends how we loved this time with you then as the years went on you were oh so patient with me. I thank God for that because you never gave up on me. I also loved that no matter where we went you always knew someone, to you there was no such thing as a stranger because before we left they were soon your friend as well. Your faithful servanthood to God taught me that with God all things are possible. I will strive to serve God as you did Dad and I will love others as you taught me that is what God wants of us to love one another.  I love you Pa'pa I will miss you but I will never forget you. --

Daddy, I remember as a child always wanting to hold your hand. I would measure mine to yours and was in awe how much bigger your hand was to mine, they were strong, rough hands, but always kind hands and ready to give me a pat on the back or on my cheek and telling me you loved me. As the years went by your hands turned soft with wrickly skin they were always ready to praise the Lord and still ready to give me that pat on my cheek or on my back and telling me you love me. I will miss holding your hand daddy, hearing your laughter and seeing your smile; most of all I will miss hearing you tell me you love me and saying Ya yego la Baby. You will forever be in my heart Daddy Thank you for being a wonderful Dad! Love always la Baby.
