Margie Nell Ootsey

Matthew 5:4

With heavy hearts we grieve the passing of our beloved Margie Nell Ootsey. Margie was born February 27, 1939, in Winnfield, Louisiana to Hubert and Alline Davis and was reared in Jonesboro, Louisiana.

While in Jonesboro, Margie accepted Christ and was Baptized at Union Star Baptist Church. She later found joy in Worship and fellowship at the Zion Rest Baptist Church under the guidance of Pastor Foster in Austin, Texas. After leaving Jonesboro Margie moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana and met and married Alfred Spencer, Jr. They relocated to Austin Texas. She was the mother of 4 children, Gwendolyn, Yolanda, Alfred III, and Adrienne. After her first union dissolved, she met and married AV Oostey.

Margie enjoyed travel and she loved children. She owned and operated a daycare center until she retired.

Preceding Margie’s death were her parents, Hubert and Alline Davis, three sisters, Edna Jean McGee, Ethel Lean Currie, Essie Mae Pennywell, one brother, Curtis L. Davis, and her youngest child Adrienne Poole.

Left to mourn her passing are her children, Gwendolyn Lewis, Yolanda Musgrove, Alfred Spencer III, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

We are grateful for the love and friendship that was shared with her throughout her life. In God’s care she rests.

A visitation for Margie will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.

A funeral service will occur Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.

A graveside service will occur Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
