

As a little girl Maria loved listening to Elvis Presley. It was Elvis that initially sparked her dreams to move to The United States. In her mid-twenties she made the big leap to move to make that big move to the States. There she would meet her future husband, Thurmond Bell.
Maria and Thurmond met in Hawaii where he was stationed while enlisted in the Marine Corps. The two had a whirlwind romance. They wed fast but had a marriage the lasted until his death on February 22, 2020.
Maria was a proud and supportive military wife until her husband retired from the Marine Corps after serving for 25 years. She also retired as Retail manager for JC Penney after 15 years. She was very proud and pleased with the life they built together.
She had a very loving, caring, nurturing spirit. Maria was undoubtedly a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She dedicated the last 22 years of her life to caring for her son who became disabled from a near fatal car accident. She also was very supportive of her daughter and helped raise her grandson. She did all this with pure love and joy.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Thurmond Bell. She was also preceded in death by her parents Francisco Panis and Cresencia Panis, and by her brother, Leo Panis Dagami.
Maria is survived by her son, Rashyad Bell, her daughter Javonnie Bell, and her grandson Josiah Stephens. She is also survived by her siblings, Francisco Panis Dagami, Jovita Panis Dagami, Leonila Dagami De Leon, Elizabeth Panis Gatela, and Bienvenido Panis Gatela. Maria is also survived by her adoptive daughter, Amanda Higgins and granddaughter, Aaliyah Holmes, and a host of relatives in the Philippines and a host of relatives from her husband’s side.
A visitation for Maria will be held Monday, June 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
A funeral service will occur Monday, June 16, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
A committal service will occur Monday, June 16, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
