Ella era una mujer muy trabjadora y bondadosa. Amaba ayudar a la gente a su alrededor. Ella era el tipo de persona que se podía quitar su saco si veía a alguna persona con frío.

Ella era madre, esposa, hija, hermana, tía, suegra, abuela, y amiga. Siempre demostraba amor, cariño, y generosidad. Le sobreviven su hija Araceli Quezada, sus nietos Alex y Diego. Sus hermanos Socorro Vega, Guadalupe Hernandez y Manuel Hernandez. Precedida en la muerte por sus padres María Puentes y José Hernández, y su hermana Concepción Lopez.

Por su gran calidad humana, la llevaremos en nuestros corazones y la recordaremos con mucho amor y cariño.

Descanse en paz.

Salmo 91

Tú que vives bajo la protección del Dios altísimo y moras a la sombra del Dios omnipotente, di al Señor: "Eres mi fortaleza y mi refugio, eres mi Dios, en quien confío". Pues él te librará de la red del cazador, de la peste mortal; te cobijará bajo sus alas y tú te refugiarás bajo sus plumas; su lealtad será para ti escudo y armadura. No temerás el terror de la noche ni la flecha que vuela por el día, ni la peste que avanza en las tinieblas ni el azote que asola al mediodía. Aunque a tu lado caigan mil, y diez mil a tu diestra, a ti no te alcanzarán. Te bastará abrir los ojos, y verás que los malvados reciben su merecido, ya que has puesto tu refugio en el Señor y tu cobijo en el altísimo. A ti no te alcanzará la desgracia ni la plaga llegará a tu tienda, pues él ordenó a sus santos ángeles que te guardaran en todos tus caminos; te llevarán en sus brazos para que tu pie no tropiece en piedra alguna; andarás sobre el león y la serpiente, pisarás al tigre y al dragón. Porque él se ha unido a mí, yo lo liberaré; lo protegeré, pues conoce mi nombre; si me llama, yo le responderé, estaré con él en la desgracia, lo libraré y lo llenaré de honores; le daré una larga vida, le haré gozar de mi salvación.

María del Carmen Hernández was born on July 8, 1950, in Zacatecas, Mexico, and passed away on January 20, 2026, in Austin, Texas.

She was a very hardworking and kind woman. She loved helping those around her. She was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back if she saw you were cold.

She was a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. She always showed love, affection, and generosity. She is survived by her daughter Araceli Quezada and her grandsons Alex and Diego. She is also survived by her siblings Socorro Vega, Guadalupe Hernandez, and Manuel Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her parents María Puentes and José Hernández, and her sister Concepción Lopez.

Because of her great humanity, we will carry her in our hearts and remember her with much love and affection.

Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling,

no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he[b] loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
