

Marion Wright was born to Gastro Odean Wright and Essie Mae Williams on July 17, 1926. To this union, nine children were born. Marion was the fifth child born on March 11, 1935. He attended Kealing Austin Public Schools and graduated from Anderson High School. He briefly attended Huston-Tillotson College.
Mr. Wright then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and he was stationed in Japan for three years. He also served in Korea and Vietnam. After his retirement, he returned to college and earned his Master’s Degree in education from Prairie View University. He then worked for 20 years as a counselor at Gray Job Corp in San Marcos, Texas and then retired.
Marion Wright leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 57 years, Mildred Clark-Wright; and his son, Eric Ray Wright; his grandsons, Eric L. Wright (Catrina), Daniel Wright; grandchildren, DeLeon Wright, Airiq Wright, Daniel Wright Jr. Mr. Wright is also survived by his sister, Irene Luckett; his brother, Joe Wright (Margaret), all of Austin, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, along with six brothers and sisters.
Friends may pay their respects between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Steemer, Preston Smith, Hector Laboi, Quency Johnson, Rodrick Clark, and Owen Steen. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Clark and Bryan Clark.
