

Mary T. Black of Pflugerville, TX passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born on July 23, 1936, in Lorain, OH. When she was eight years old, she moved with her family back to their hometown of Georgetown, TX.
Mary attended Georgetown High School and worked a variety of jobs over her lifetime, including secretary, ER switchboard operator, apartment manager, bank teller, medical receptionist, crosswalk guard, and insurance office manager. She brought to every job a desire to learn, and she worked hard and was dependable and loyal.
Mary was outgoing and enjoyed meeting people and making friends. She took time to listen to people, offering loving wisdom and encouragement. She was a great storyteller. She would share stories of her life growing up and her family.
Mary was preceded in death by her son, John Lester Black, and her husband, Clinton Darold Black.
Mary is survived by her children Elizabeth (Vic) Stroud, Michael (Jane) Lozano, Robert (Jimi) Black, Rebecca (David) Black Yelton, stepson Clint (Lilly) Black, grandchildren Stephanie Hutchinson, Chelsea Stroud, Colleen Quirk, Tobias Black, and step-grandchildren Jason Black, Jessica Black, Levi Black, Hunter Caravel, Samantha Caravel, Nathan Grismore, and Sarah Harvey.
The family would like to thank her home health nurse, Alexis Caughey, and hospice nurse, Kyle Alexander, for the care and compassion they showed Mary in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, January 19, 2026. Visitation will be 12:30 -2:30 p.m. at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home 14501 North IH35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. There will be a graveside service at 3:00 p.m.
