Maxine McMains Sheppard

Our beloved Mom and Mema is survived by her children--Dixie Heffington King and her husband, J.B.; Mike Heffington and his wife, Dania; and Nora Sheppard Estlund and her husband, Eric. She is also survived by her grandchildren--Darrell Dunn and his wife, Kelly; Kellye King; Johnny Bender; and N'Kisha and Anndrea Heffington--and three great-grandchildren--Mack, Bowie, and Cody Dunn.

Maxine graduated from Austin High School and studied Art at UT-Austin. She worked for many years at Scarbroughs, the State Capitol, Behrens Drug Company, Holy Cross Hospital, and St. David's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ike Heffington; her parents, R.D. and Tommie McMains; and her brothers, Joe and Herbert McMains.

Maxine guided others by how she lived her life--with infinite humor, common sense, and strength. She will live forever in our hearts. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association and the Alzheimer's Association.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas.
