Michael Overheim was a devoted father, a loyal husband, a Navy veteran, and a man of unwavering integrity. He shared 35 loving years of marriage with his wife, Theresa Overheim, and together they raised four children, to whom he was a steady and supportive presence every day of their lives. He was also a proud grandfather to three grandchildren, whom he adored. Nothing brought him more joy than being silly with them, surprising them with special treats and gifts, and being present at birthdays, soccer games, and the everyday moments that make life meaningful. He is also survived by his brother, David Overheim, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Michael served his country honorably in the United States Navy as a Nuclear Electronics Technician on fast-attack submarines, including the USS Gato and the USS Hawkbill. He carried that same sense of duty and discipline into civilian life as a Director at GP Strategies, where he worked for 27 years. He diligently provided for his family while juggling school drop-offs, swim practices, and countless school events. He was always there - a constant source of strength, wisdom, and dry humor.
Known for his practical outlook and logical mind, Michael gave honest, thoughtful advice to anyone who sought it. His words carried weight not because they were loud, but because they were true. His sense of humor was sharp, his encouragement steady, and his love unconditional.
Michael will be remembered not only for what he did, but for who he was - a man of deep character, quiet sacrifice, and heartfelt devotion to those he loved.
A memorial visitation for Michael will be held Monday, July 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
