

Born on October 9, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York. Michael’s life was marked by dedication, compassion, and service to others. He was a proud graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School and Brooklyn College before earning his medical degree from State University of New York, School of Medicine at Stoneybrook. Following medical school, Michael moved to Houston, Texas, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He was a Mason and a member of the Gamma Gamma Sigma Phi Pi in Austin Texas.
In 1996, Michael made his way to Austin, Texas, where he began his lifelong career as a physician at the Austin Diagnostic Clinic. For nearly three decades, he provided expert and compassionate care to countless patients, leaving behind a legacy of healing, wisdom, and kindness that will live on in the lives of those he touched.
Beyond his professional achievements, Michael’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Christina Romain, and their four children—Mikaela, Michael, Ryan, and Reese—who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his parents, Louis Romain (Louise), Mona Romain; his sister, Lisa; Mother-in-Law Betty Beam (William), and many other loving cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Michael will be remembered for his steady wisdom, his generosity of spirit, his unwavering love for his family and community. He also had a passion for comic books, Star Trek, and his favorite sports teams- NY Yankees, NY Giants and the Houston Texans. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life for all friends and family will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Archer Hotel, 3121 Palm Way, Austin, TX 78758. A private service and interment will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Autism Society of Texas.
