

Nancy was born April 27, 1928 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was the daughter of Dewey Karchner McDivitt and Mildred Tice Wolven. She attended Poughkeepsie schools and graduated from New Paltz State Teacher's College in 1950.
She was a former teacher at the Poughkeepsie Day Nursery, Wheaton Park. On June 23, 1955, at the Dutch Reformed Church she married Wallace L. Kark who pre-deceased her in February 2005. They resided in Poughkeepsie and later in Tannersville, Greene County, NY. She was a girl scout leader for Troop 5 and volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years in Poughkeepsie and later in the Town of Hunter. Knitting and hiking were two of her favorite activities. She was a member of Gloria Dei Episcopal Church in Palenville, NY and attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Pflugerville.
Survivors include her daughter Jeanne Garde, son-in-law Steven Garde and grandson Alex Garde all of Texas, a step-daughter Vicky J. Kark of New York, several cousins, and many close friends.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family and announced at a later date.
