Patricia Reyna

Patricia was born in Houston, Texas on February 12, 1983 to her parents, Sofia Dela Cruz and Gaudencio Reyna. She lives on through her husband, Gerardo Rivas, who she married on November 16, 2004.

Patricia also lives on through her mother, Sofia Dela Cruz; her father, Gaudencio Reyna; her 3 children, Angel Rivas-Reyna, Jerry Rivas-Reyna, and Lillyana Rivas-Reyna; her two brothers, Andrew Rudy Reyna, Michael Reyna, and his wife, Crystal Reyna; her sister, Nancy Reyna and her husband, Juan Rayos-Arellano; her two nieces, Ellie Arellano-Reyna, Ibri Arellano-Reyna; and her three nephews, Juan Arellano-Reyna, Carlos Arellano-Reyna, and Leo Reyna.

Patricia was a long-time resident of Austin, Texas where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Houston, Texas at the age of 1. At the age of 3, she was in an accident and was told that she would not make it. After being in a coma for 8 days, she fought and woke up. The doctors told her she wouldn’t have a normal life and she would never be able to walk or even have a family. With the odds stacked against her, she lived her life to the fullest and disproved all the doctors. She had an amazing family, was able to walk, and graduated from Concordia University.

She loved her kids more than anything in the world. She dedicated every minute to them and ensured that they were always happy and taken care of. She loved flowers and butterflies and had them all over her house. She was a devoted catholic and always made sure to instill those values to anyone that came around her. She believed in paying it forward and never asked for anything in return. She took care of her mom and her siblings and made it her mission to ensure that no one in her family ever felt alone or unwanted. She was the glue to this family. She loved everyone, and everyone that came in contact with her loved her just as much. Her personality filled the room with this bright presence. She loved to shop, do her makeup, and make arts and crafts.

We ask our father in Heaven that she may watch over her family and help guide us through these hard times. She will be greatly missed and will be in our hearts forever.
