Paul is survived by his wife Elizabeth, daughter Amanda (Josh), Sister Judy (Jim), and brothers Phil, (Vicki), Jim, Joe (Mary), and Fred (Cathy). Too numerous to mention here are the many other relatives and friends who, along with his immediate family, will miss the kind, gentle soul that was Paul.
Paul was born in Scottsburg, Indiana and grew up on a small farm in Otisco, Indiana. After high school, he served six years in the US Navy where he earned training as a communications engineer, through UCLA. After the Navy, Paul joined the NASA Space Shuttle project team, as an employee of Ford Aerospace in Houston, Texas where he worked for 30+ years. He was a valued and respected member of the Space Shuttle Project for its entirety, and he was awarded with the Silver Snoopy (Goggle it!), for his hard work and dedication to his job. Upon termination of the Space Shuttle Project, Paul and his family moved to the Austin, TX area.
After Paul retired in 2018, he loved to spend time at his grill preparing food for his family. He adored his daughter Amanda and cherished spending time with her. Every week, Paul and Elizabeth would work on crossword puzzles together, where he could occasionally be caught sneaking answers online. He loved playing with his dog Zoe, and his family would often hear him howling with her. Paul enjoyed watching Sci Fi movies, and he excitedly followed along on the progress of SpaceX .
Paul was a loving and giving person who was a friend to all. He would frequently make friends with telemarketers and salesmen who called him, and he always wanted to help everyone in need. He dearly loved his family, and he was silly in the best way and always fun to be around. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Due to the continuing Covid pandemic, funeral arrangements are pending. Paul would join us in urging you to protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated and wearing a mask. We are heartbroken to have lost such a beloved member of our family.
