Peggy was born and raised in Austin and lived her life here as an original Austinite; she graduated from Austin High School. She married and raised three girls. She spent most of her working career in various retail organizations. She loved polka dancing, spending time at the lake in her RV, and going to Shreveport to spend time at Boom Town with her beloved companion of 13 years, Billy Adams. She also enjoyed going on cruises to various places, but Alaska was her favorite.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Frances Reed of Austin; her beloved husband, Melvin Young of Austin; her youngest daughter, Tracy Young Arnold; her brother, Donald Wayne Reed of Austin; husband, James Hindmarsh; and her companion, Billy Adams of Austin.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Nations and her husband, Charles, and Debra Richardson; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; her sister, Martha Ann Sutton, of Goldsboro, North Carolina; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Graveside services for Peggy will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
