He is preceded in death by his father Al Marion Boyd, mother Elizabeth Wise, brothers, Richard and Kenneth, and sisters, Florence and Irene. Ralph believed family was important, a family he loved. Dad also loved to travel. However, his idea of sight-seeing was sometimes more like drive by- see- leave!
Dad served in the army during WWII. He was honorably discharged when a meat block fell on his foot! He was proud to be an American filled with lots of pride for all the Vets. He became a mechanic after moving to Texas with mom and baby Judy.
Dad loved to tease, enjoyed talking to people and helping if he could. Dad was a strong man. Even at the age 92 he had a strong handshake which was how he judged a person’s character. People who knew him learned never to come up from behind and touch him because he came around fighting, caused by his time in WWII.
I think Dad would’ve fished all the time if he could have. Dad didn’t believe in sitting around. He kept going, doing no matter what. Dad was one of a kind. He will be missed, but remembered.
