Randell Jenkins was born on June 21, 1970 to the union of Roy M. Jenkins, Sr and Rosie Jenkins in Chicago Heights, Il. Randy (as he was fondly called by all his family and friends) attended Beacon Hill Elementary School in Chicago Heights, Il, Forest Trail Middle School in Park Forest, Il and then graduated from Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields, Il in 1988. Randy later attended ITT where he received his Associates Degree in Electronics. This completed his secular education. He held various jobs as an Electronics Technician.
Randy’s lifelong spiritual education started in the womb and he progressed to the point of dedicating his life to Jehovah. He symbolized his dedication to his God, Jehovah on November 16, 1985. As a child Randy loved to spend time with his family, joking around with his 5 brothers and sisters. With so many cousins and friends around he enjoyed the many, many weekend family barbeques, trips throughout the country, playing sports and video games.
His fun loving personality was why he would happily and eagerly open his home, to the many young ones in the congregation. Spending time with Kayla and Randy, II allowed him to get to know so many in the congregations he attended.
Randy also loved his ministry and spiritual responsibilities of which he took very seriously. He was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of serving as a regular pioneer and was able to attend pioneer school just this past summer. This brought the most immeasurably joy to his life. This was despite various health challenges he had started to face. Randy faced these health challenges head-on, without a complaining spirit, and would not allow them to stop his service to Jehovah, smiling all the way.
Randell Jenkins died on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 with countless family members and friends at his bedside. This was a testimony to the kind of life Randy lived and shared with others.
