Robert (Bob) Charles Callaway, age 89, passed away Monday, December 9, 2019. Bob was born July 15, 1930 in Kansas City, Kansas to Charles Perry and Edith (Wyman) Callaway. He loved traveling in his RV all over the United States and he was an avid collector of Model T cars. Bob also enjoyed boating and horse racing. He was a member of the Model T Club and he was a Mason and Shriner. For many years he owned Bob’s Tree Service. In the mid 1970’s Bob began buying and selling hotels, which he continued to do for over 20 years. He built the first hotel in Round Rock – the Best Western on IH 35.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Edith Callaway; first wife, Donna Callaway; son, Gary Callaway; and brother, Dave Callaway. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carol Callaway; sons, Steve, Robert Jr. and Brian Callaway; daughter, Kristi McCoy; brothers, Edwin and Alvin Callaway; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 16, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the Cook Walden Capital Parks Mausoleum.
