Bob was born in Sacramento, California on October 26, 1949, to Robert and Victoria Kearney. He graduated from Wheatland High School prior to joining the United States Air Force where he went on to honorably serve his country for 20 years and ultimately retire as a Senior Master Sergeant.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Jacquelyn (Jackie) Kearney, on July 24, 1971. During Bob’s military service he and Jackie travelled extensively around Europe, while stationed in Bitburg, Germany. Upon leaving Germany, the family moved to Edward’s Air Force Base in Southern California. In 1984 he was transferred to Bergstrom Air Force base in Austin, Texas, the great state the family would ultimately call home. After retiring from the Air Force, Bob went on to work for Abbott Laboratories until his retirement in 2005.
In Bob’s free time upon retirement, he gained his SAG Card while appearing as an extra in the various television shows and movies filmed around the Austin area. He was an extra during all seasons of Friday Night Lights. He was always excited to share about his experience and his time on set with the actors and other extras.
Bob had a strong passion for working on old cars and enjoyed visiting the swap meets with friends. He was an avid golfer and loved to fish. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.
Bob was a loving husband, father, papa, brother in-law, uncle, and friend to many. His fun-hearted, joyful personality will live on with the legacy he leaves behind and he will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
