

Bob served in the Navy as an Electronics Technician, 3rd Class Petty Officer and was honorably discharged in 1956. He went on to further serve his country on the Bellaire and Houston Police Departments until injuries he received in the line of duty forced him to take an early retirement. He also worked as an investigator for the State Attorney General’s Office. He was a member of the Kingsland Masonic Lodge and a 32nd degree Member of the Arabia Shrine Temple in Houston. He attended the University of Texas and received his Associate of Arts from Houston Community College. He was an excellent cook and a friend to everyone he met. He was a good and honorable man.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Margaret Olson, his father Victor Floyd Olson, his stepmother Jeanetta Mae Olson, his brothers Milburn Dean (Mac) and Robert Wayne (Little Bob) Armstrong, and his granddaughter Rebecca Denise Olson.
He is survived by his wife Polly and beloved dog Samantha of Austin. He is also survived by his sons and daughters-in-law David and Tonia Olson of Gig Harbor, WA, Chuck and Jan Olson of Bellville, and Corey and Mary Carter of Austin and also daughters and sons-in-law Leslie and David Janac of Snook, and Christy and Chris Litz of Austin.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren Aubrey and Jessica Olson, Travis, Ryan, and Kjersten Olson, Will Dixon, and Caleb and Claire Litz.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A graveside ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
