Roxy Ann Bingham was reunited with her husband Si Lee on March 5, 2016 at the age of 80. Roxy was born at home on October 8, 1935 in Tanglewood, Texas to Henry Clarence and Carrie Kyle Spence. Following her graduation from Rockdale High School, she married Si, who had returned to Texas from his service in the United States Marine Corps.
Roxy was well known by her friends and family for her caring nature, her profound faith, and her love of cooking for her family. Between fishing trips; barbeque cook-offs, and bowling competitions, she and Si travelled to all but one of the forty-eight continental states. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who could always count on Roxy to enthusiastically support them. Those who were close to Roxy will remember and cherish her remarkable keepsake quilts, which were a passion of hers in her later years.
Roxy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, as well as her siblings, Rubye Ellen Brown and Kyle Jefferson Spence. She leaves behind a son, Robert and Carolyn Bingham; daughter, Patricia Niemie, and five grandchildren: James and Ashley Niemie, Joel and Caitlyn Niemie, Bonnie Bingham, Kyle Niemie, and Kristal and Joel LeMaistre; her special delights were her three great-grandchildren: Travis, Tyler, and Sofia Niemie; brothers, Claude and LaNell Spence and Rodney and Lu Spence; nieces and nephews.
The family would like to especially thank the staff of Orchard Park Memory Care and Resolution Hospice for their compassionate care.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery. Please visit www.cookwaldencapitalparks.comfor online tributes.
