Rueben Henry Satterwhite

Rueben Henry Satterwhite was born on September 25, 1948, and received his wings on February 2, 2025. He was the seventh child of 17 children born to Reverend Bradford and Edna Irene Satterwhite. Rueben accepted Christ early at a young age at St. Annie A.M.E. Methodist Church and attended Travis High School.
Later, he became a professional boxer. After leaving the boxing circuit, he became a manager at Marimont and Luby‘s Cafeteria for several years. After accumulating extensive experience in the food industry, he became an entrepreneur and established his own business, a popular hamburger establishment called Jam Burgers in East Austin. Another successful business venture of Rueben’s was an after-hours nightclub.
He was involved in many things and was active in the community. He coached women’s kickball and was a popular umpire. Rueben never met a stranger; to know him was to love him. Rueben was a happy man who was always joking around. He loved his family, was a hard worker, and was a great provider, always ensuring they were cared for. Rueben was a kind-hearted person who helped many people in the community, ensuring their needs were met.
Rueben was preceded in death by his parents, Bradford and Edna Satterwhite, and his brothers, Robert Satterwhite, Albert Satterwhite, Alvin Satterwhite, Earl Satterwhite, and Bradford Satterwhite. Sisters: Laura Satterwhite Mary Catherine, Mary Satterwhite; Edna Mae Satterwhite.
Rueben leaves his lovely daughter, Kimberly Satterwhite Moore (John), sons Ruben H. Satterwhite Jr. (Heather) and Alfred H. Satterwhite, and his children's mother, Nancy Carson, to cherish his memories.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his brothers: Alfred Satterwhite, Carl Satterwhite (Celia), and Curtis Pyburn. Sisters: Bernice Satterwhite, Idella Morris, Norma Satterwhite, Ebony Pyburn.
Grandchildren: Ashley Moore (Ryan), Christina York, Madison Satterwhite (Keiandre), Donovan Satterwhite. Great-grandchildren: Rhyann Moore, Zayden Johnson, Ashtyn Moore, Zoey Nash, Ziora Nash; especially Carletta Satterwhite for the love and special care she provided and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
