

Sammy (Sam) Camp Cochrum of Tow, Texas passed away at his home on August 7, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2023, as Palm Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery in Round Rock, Texas.
Sam was born in Huntsville, Texas to Olive and Camp Cochrum on September 18, 1946. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Mary Evelyn Johnson, till her death in 1991. They had 3 sons. Later he married Lois Camin who brought her family into his life. Lois preceded him in death in 2019.
Professionally, Sam was a computer programmer for the City of Austin, and later, the Texas Department of Insurance until his retirement. He then worked for Home Depot in Marble Falls, Texas as a Sales Associate until his retirement in 2021.
Sam had many interest, from his family to the outdoors. His children and their families were always very important to him, and he enjoyed their visits. He always greeted family with love and hugs. If you asked any of his family and friends to describe him, you would hear words like friendly, kind, and loyal. He had way too many hobbies and interest to list. In his retirement years, he loved sitting outside under the trees, spending time visiting or just reading a good book.
Sam is survived by three children and their families: Paul and Susan Cochrum. Christopher and Mary Cochrum, Robert and and David Cochrum.
He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
A funeral service will occur Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home.
