

Sharon Yvonne Cline, passed from this earth to the next life on January 12, 2013 after a gallant 4 year battle with corticobasal degeneration. Sharon was born on May 12, 1937 to Wilburn and Reba Merle Smith in Heidenhammer, Texas. She graduated from Temple High School in 1955 and attended Durham Business College in Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents and a younger sister, Janice Lynn Smith.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jimmy Cline. They have lived in Austin all of their married life. In addition to her husband, Sharon is survived by son Curtis Cline and wife Kim, daughter Linda Laurence and husband Darrell, grandchildren Kelli Cline, Samantha Laurence, Jacob Laurence, Megan Meyer, Austin Meyer, Jessica Meyer, the apple of her eye great granddaughter Makenzi Lynn Taylor, sister Wanda Rhoads and husband James of Temple, their children and grandchildren and numerous cousins.
Sharon will be remembered for her tireless work with the Austin Bowling Association, The Texas State Bowling Association, and The Texas State USBC Bowling Association. Having spent over 42 years participating and serving in these organizations, she won many awards including being elected to the Greater Austin USBC Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2011. She was an active member of United Christian Church for over 44 years. Although not an official member she was very active with the activities committee of the Austin General Contractors Association. Sharon always made time to attend just about every school related activity that her grandchildren were involved in. She was a founding member of POPS, thanks for all they have done.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Odyssey Hospice for their compassion and care over the past nine months, specifically Sheri, Latica, Tina, Jessica, and Alan. Thanks to our Friday girls Preet Dhillon and Raman Kour, Seton Brain & Spine, Kim Butrum, and a special person to us Royce Faulkner.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home with burial following at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. A reception will follow at United Christian Church, 3500 W. Parmer Lane.
