Solomon was born in Elgin, Texas on November 15, 1949 to Julia Robledo and Solomon Salazar. He relocated to Round Rock in the early sixties where he met his beautiful wife Maria del Rosario Palacios Salazar due to his beloved sister, Martha Gaitan, who introduced the two. They were both avid churchgoers at Saint William Catholic Church which brought the two even closer together. They wed November 18, 1967 at Saint William Catholic Church. On January 7, 1969 they welcomed their first born, Linda Maria Salazar. They had four more children, Solomon R. Salazar III, born March 29, 1972, Christina Salazar, born March 6, 1974, Angel Salazar, born October 1, 1978, now deceased, and their last child, David Salazar born March 18,1987.
Solomon’s interests included spending intimate time with his family. He took the time to get to know each child and grandchild by asking each to share about themselves. He was well respected by his family and was always greeted upon arrival and before leaving with a hug and a kiss. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, cowboy movies, and old shows from the sixties and seventies. When the technology boom hit and social media was on the rise he became interested in learning how to apply it to his daily life. His new interests became candy crush, puzzle games, and Facebook on his personal Kindle.
