Steven Clark Craig was born March 3, 1952, in Austin, Texas, to William Jenkins and Betty Lee Berry Craig and passed away at his home on February 25, 2025, at the age of 72. He was a wonderful husband, great father, loving brother and friend. He worked as a roughneck in the Giddings oil fields and for many years on rigs on Alaska’s North Slope. He enjoyed carpentry and even taught an English class at the University of Texas. He was a good friend and had a great sense of humor, quick witted and intelligent. He volunteered at the Equestrian Society for special needs children.
Steven is preceded in death by his loving wife, Rebecca who passed in 2009, sons, William and Charles, and his parents. He is survived by his brothers, Richard N. Craig and wife, Shirley, and William Berry Craig and wife, Beate; sisters, Leslee Wright and Carla Barnes. Along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be held March 22, 2025, at 11:00 am at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home. Family will receive friends in the Longhorn Room there at 10:00 am until service time.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bowman Barnes, Jeremy Craig, Weslee Wright, Brandon Barnes, Rachael Wright, and Richard Craig.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to Diabetes Association in Steven's name.
