

Susie Carrillo Lopez was born on May 13, 1927 in Austin, Texas, and passed away on October 1, 2015 in Round Rock, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andres and Candelaria Carrillo; her sister, Teresa Carrillo; and her beloved husband, WWII Army Veteran, Marcelino Lopez.
She is survived by her sons, Army Vietnam Veteran Arthur C. Lopez and wife Teresa of Austin and U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran Morris C. Lopez and wife Rosalinda of Austin; her daughters, Yolanda Gurkin and husband James of Round Rock and Maria Rivera of Pflugerville; her grandchildren, Robin L. Gurkin of Round Rock, Joseph A. Gurkin of Round Rock, Andrea (Annie) Rivera of Austin, Arturo R. Lopez of Austin, Miguel R. Lopez and wife Leticia of Austin, Morris Lopez, Jr. of Dallas, Stephanie Noack and husband Jacob of Austin, and Krystal Lopez and fiancé Jonathan D. Pisana of Austin; and her great-grandchildren, Marcelino A. Lopez, Miguel R. Lopez and Marco A. Lopez of Austin.
Our mom was of “The Greatest Generation.” Her legacy was her never ending, unconditional, and profound love to her family. She was our Angel on Earth and will be in Heaven.
Honoring our mom as pallbearers will be Morris Lopez, Jr., Arturo R. Lopez, Miguel R. Lopez, Joseph A. Gurkin, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Bobby Vera, and Armando Benavides.
A special thank you to her caregivers, Yolanda, James, Robin and Joseph Gurkin. The family would also like to thank Father Tom Frank for always being there when the family has needed him the most. Thank you to everyone in our time of bereavement.
Dearest Mom, our family will in time see you again in Heaven. Know you are deeply in our hearts eternally. Mom, God Bless you always ~ your loving family, the strong, good Lopez family that you raised.
