He worked at Texas Crushed Stone for many years. He also worked for Steck Vaughn Printing Company, which became Hart Graphics. He was a supervisor there for 22 years. He married Dolly Mae Childress on July 29, 1950 in Kyle, Texas. Although he developed several mechanical items over the years, none were ever patented.
Warren is preceded in death by his former wife, Dolly Mae of Austin; his second wife, Lucille; and his sons, Fred Glen Hastings of Bastrop and Damon Gene Hastings of Austin. He is survived by his sister, Loraine Attal of Salado; son, Warren Travis Hastings of Austin; daughter, Ann Renee Hastings of Austin; and grandson, Kenneth Charles Wiles, III of Dallas.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the funeral home chapel. He will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
