Willie loved his family and he was proud of his daughters “who graduated from the university,” and his grandson, the apple of his eye, Elijah. He was happiest planting his garden, plowing the land with his antique John Deere tractors and taking long rides to “look at the land”. He’ll be missed for his smile and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone. For Willie, there were no strangers just friends he hadn’t met yet.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Eliseo and Rita Guajardo, two baby siblings and his brother, Adam Guajardo, who died in April 2015. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Ann; daughter Kathy Guajardo of Manor; daughter Karen Ritch of Pflugerville and her husband, Randy and his only grandchild, Elijah Ritch; six sisters - Herminia Guajardo, Ernestine Galindo, (husband, Thomas); Delphine Guajardo, Rita Jonse (husband, John); Lynda Jaime (husband, Ruben), and Hope Olvera (husband, Snow) all of Manor. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Janell Guajardo of Pflugerville, Dolores Sanchez; brothers-in-law, Alex Rodriguez and Lee Roy Rodriguez (wife, Esther) all of Austin, and his many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at the Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1300 Old Hwy. 20, Manor, with Rev. Gregory McLaughlin as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Manor Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, Tommy Galindo, Adam Jaime, John Jonse, Kirk Jonse, Anthony Sanchez and Richard Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Porras and Conrad Jonse.
