She was born on February 1, 1935 in Offenbach O.M., West Germany to Frieda (Demmer) and Rudolf Ebert. She was raised in the Lutheran faith. On May 12, 1956, she married Obie W. Ragan in Offenbach and she was a proud Air Force wife for 24 years during his service in the military.
Wilma loved taking care of her family, which is one of the many ways she will always be remembered. She loved to cook and spend time gardening and tending to her flower beds. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and feeding the hummingbirds and squirrels that gathered in her yard. She also loved watching Wheel of Fortune. She never missed a birthday for her children and grandchildren. She made sure that they always received a birthday card and a calendar at Christmas. She also liked to give her family practical things, so they would often receive gift cards for grocery stores for Christmas gifts. Her steadfast companion was her cat, Tommy, who she loved and adored.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, Rudolf and Frieda Ebert, sister, Renate Bilz, brother, Reinhold Ebert, and her husband of 44 years, Obie W. Ragan.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Rosanna McGlasson and husband Allan of Cedar Creek; her sons, Jessy Ragan and wife Kelly of Austin, Scott Ragan and wife Annette of Elgin, and Frank Ragan and wife Margaret of Austin; her ten grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael, and Corbin McGlasson, Justin, Cody and Kasey Ragan, James and FranaZhea’ Ragan, and Ryan and Sarah Ragan; and her 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her very best friends, Inge and Hans Holland.
A funeral service honoring Wilma’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. She will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
