

He leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Gwenzetta Mickens-Rush (Robinson, Texas); his son, Pernell Winston Rush (Santa Maria, California); his daughter, Valerie Lynn Washington (Indianapolis, Indiana); his brother Edgar Rush, Jr; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; along with many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Born in Coatopa, Alabama, on August 12, 1941, the son of Edgar and Julia Rush, and he moved to Gary, Indiana. He completed his high school education at Sharples High School in Sharples, West Virginia. He completed his business studies at Center College in Charleston, West Virginia. He then moved to Texas where he was a QA inspector at Dell in Austin, Texas, where he retired in 2001. After Winston retired he enjoyed his hobbies of farming, photography, and traveling.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at 10:30 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Waco, Texas with Reverend Cyril Ejaidu, celebrant. A reception in the church hall will be held after the Memorial Mass. An inurnment service will be held at a later date at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
