Zachary loved to travel and was able to go on multiple grand adventures. He was fortunate enough to join the LBJ Marching Band in London (UK) to march in the New Year’s Day Parade, family trips to Hawaii, Paris and Germany, as well as time working abroad in both Ireland and Australia. Zac’s love for travel coupled with his love for his friends made for countless road trips and getaways all over the States. Professionally Zac was a well-respected and accomplished IT Systems and Network Administrator as well as a Linux Engineer.
Zac’s fascination with computers began at an early age. His first computer of his own came when he was 13 years old. Zac’s vast knowledge came from constantly updating and breaking this computer, and others. While Zac followed many paths during his young life, he always came back to his first true passion of computers and electronics. That passion in the end served him better than anyone could have ever wished and allowed him to take his periodic sabbaticals.
Zac had a generous, loving, and inclusive heart that allowed him to create lifelong friendships. He was always there to lend support where he could, even if it was just an ear to listen. He loved spending time with his friends. Zac’s personal passions of music and comedy meant that everyone in his life was always experiencing something new as it was hard to keep Zac from sharing what he was passionate about. This also created great opportunities of attending music and comedy concerts many of which required travel. Zac also loved spending time at Pool Leagues, enjoying the game maybe as much as the company at the games. Zac’s love also extended to animals; he had many pets throughout his life. Growing up, Zac would constantly have dogs “follow him home.” He could not stand to walk by them and not help. Of course, it is hard to believe they followed him when there was a rope around their neck.
Zac will always be remembered by his loving family and friends for his giant heart filled with love, his amazing mind that was always willing to question, learn, and share, and that he never met a stranger.
