Alberic ( Al) Ambrosio, 65, passed away at home on Saturday, July 10th, 2021. He was born in the Bronx, NYC, on July 15th, 1955 to Julia (Crescitelli) and Vincent Ambrosio. Al was named for Saint Alberic Crescitelli, his mother Julia's uncle. Saint Alberic suffered martyrdom for his faith in China during the Boxer Rebellion.
Al graduated from Mount Saint Michael Academy in the Bronx. He attended St. Louis University, St. Louis, MO, where he met Mary Eleanor Hunter, who became his wife (1976) and life partner. Al loved most of all being with his family, especially playing with his daughters and later his grandsons. Al was beloved by all young folks and welcomed them one and all to his home, the "kool aid" house! He was a true kid at heart.
He worked many years at Dillards, and appreciated the finest in clothing. Al was the eternal "sharp- dressed man!"
Hilarious and so unique, Al was a man of character and true goodness. Everyone wanted his company.
Life is now forever changed, dazed and confused, we can't imagine life without Al, Dad, Grandpa...he was the counterpart beat to all of our hearts! ❤❤❤❤
Survivors are Mary Ambrosio, daughter Eileen Ambrosio, grandsons, Corbin and Quinn Ambrosio and beloved family dog "Toby", all of Phoenix, AZ and daughter Christine Ambrosio of Austin, TX . His two older brothers, Phillip (Marie) Ambrosio and Ralph (Geraldine) Ambrosio reside in Pelham and Pelham Manor, NY respectively along with several nieces and nephews around the New York area.
In lieu of flowers, please send remembrances to the AZ Humane Society in Phoenix.
