

He served as a radio operator and electronic warfare officer with the 504th Bomb Group, 20th Army Air Force stationed at Tinian Island in the Pacific during World War II. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal and the Purple Heart among other awards. He later served with the 43rd Air refueling Group during the Korean War.
After his military service, he became a machinist working primarily on military and aerospace projects for more than 40 years retiring as a master machinist.
He was the Past Master of the Masonic Lodge of Bedford Heights, Ohio and a Life member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael James and Irene Palko, his beloved wife Dorothy "Dee" Palko of nearly 71 years, great, great granddaughter Lily and niece Sandy.
He is survived by his daughter, Anita Jones of Phoenix and his son David von Palko of Clarksville Tennessee, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 6th followed by a Funeral service at 11:00am, at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary, 200 W Beardsley Rd. Phoenix Arizona. Interment with full Military Honors will follow the Chapel Service in Phoenix Memorial Park.
