Alexander Michaud of Phoenix Arizona passed away peacefully at Ridgecrest nursing home January 24, 2026 at the age of 85.
He lived a life always wanting to learn more. After graduating high school in Stafford, Connecticut in 1958 Alex enlisted into the US Air Force in 1959 at New Haven Connecticut. During Alex serving for our country, he learned radio fundamentals and machine repair. April 1963 he received an honorable discharge because of a detached retina and spinal injuries while in England. In 1973 he did advanced schooling for electric service and appliance repair. 1976. He finished bookkeeping and elementary accounting. Moving to Las Cruces New Mexico. He became an auto mechanic helper. 1989 later working at the welcome center. February 2002 Alex Met Joan Koester at a dance in the area. Seven months later they married, October 5, 2002. 2010 Joan and Alex moved to Phoenix Arizona to be closer to Joan’s daughter as they knew this would be their last home and would need future medical care as they aged. They enjoyed their life at Palm Lakes community.
Alex enjoyed working in the office doing bookkeeping, teaching water aerobics and helping with the men’s club and a bible study in the park and at church. Alex Always love the potlucks, helping with washing the dishes and taking home a plate of food after it was all done.
Alex proceeds in death by his wife Joan Michaud, stepson Daniel Koester, parents, Leo Michaud, Ellen Michaud, Brother, Leo Michaud, sister, Barbara Michaud and Jean Michaud.
Alex is survived by his stepchildren of 23 years Debra Hilby (David)Richard Koester Patty Reser (Patrick )and Jeff Koester (Shiela )along with 13 step grandchildren and 25 step great grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 1 PM at the national cemetery on Pinnacle Peak Rd., Phoenix, AZ
