Alfreda was born on February 10, 1933, in Hellier, Kentucky, to William and Roxy Hutchinson. From an early age, she carried with her a strong spirit, a gentle heart, and a deep appreciation for family and craftsmanship—qualities that would define her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Calvin Derossett, who passed away in 1986, and whom she carried in her heart for the rest of her life. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Pauline, Francis, Dorothy, and Ima Jean, and her brothers Carl, Lonnie, and Buddy.
Alfreda found great joy in her hobbies, especially jewelry making, painting, and sewing. Through her hands, she created beauty—not only in the art she made, but in the love and care she poured into her family. Her creativity was a reflection of her soul: patient, thoughtful, and full of quiet grace.
She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory always. She is survived by her sister Ruby; her sons Calvin Jr., Kevin, and Ron; her five grandchildren Lisa, Justin, Carey, Kevin Jr., and Matt; and her seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Alfreda’s legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured, the beauty she created, and the love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
