

Alma Maudina Knott passed away in the early morning of April 24, 2025, at Orchard Point Terrzza. She was with her husband of 66 years, Lamar ”Larry” Knott, son Derrick Knott, daughter Lori Knott Peters and grandchildren. Alma was born in El Centro, California, on August 15, 1939. In June of 1958 she met Lamar, at a drive-in restaurant. It was love at first sight and they were married in mid-November of 1958. In early 1959 she and Lamar moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
Alma was a multi-talented lady, who could draw and paint anything from memory or description. She also did flower arranging, cake decorating, taught gymnastics, was a Weblo Scout Leader, softball coach, and accomplished cook. She loved playing cards, games of any kind, and most of all she loved going to the casino and playing slot machines. All this time she worked 20 years in the Washington School District Cafeteria in many jobs. After 5 years of retirement Alma went back to work at ABCO Supermarkets and won the Golden Apple Award as Employee of the Year for Distinguished Customer Service in September 1996. With all her many talents and accomplishments, she was awarded a Certificate of Accomplishment for Helping Lamar through 14 years of night school to graduate from ASU. In her spare time Alma raised two children; baby sat for her many grandchildren.
In 2011 she experienced a cerebral aneurysm stroke. Her doctors gave her a 10% chance to survive, but due to her strength she survived and lived a wonderful but difficult life for 14 more years. Alma was a fighter and never let her physical difficulties interfere with enjoying her family, friends and life in general.
Alma is survived by her husband Lamar, daughter Lori, son Derrick, sister Brenda, and eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Alma’s family and many friends will celebrate her life on May 10, 2025.
