

Alvin was born September 20, 1931, in Pea Ridge, Arkansas to Hugh and Cleva Hall. Alvin joined the United States Navy in 1950 after graduating from high school and served for 4 years. This was the love of his life. He was honored to serve in the Navy and enjoyed being on the water. He served on the USS Iowa as a Commissaryman Seaman. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, as well as the United Nations Service Medal. Alvin moved to Phoenix in 1957. He worked in construction as a land surveyor for over 30 years after leaving the Navy. He has been a proud member of the Western Saddle Club since 1988.
Alvin was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Lillian Banderet Hall; brother, Marvin Hall; sisters, Mary Maurine and Winnie Mae; step-sons, John, Jim and Jerry Banderet.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Chiero, of Santa Barbara, CA; son, Scott (Linda) Hall, of Tucson, AZ; step-daughter, Judy (Dick) Banderet Passmore; step-son, Jay Banderet; daughter-in-laws Barbara Banderet Rogerson, Shirley Banderet, and Susie Banderet; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, lots of friends, and his dog Easley.
A Committal Service will be held on January 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, Az with Navy Honors. Family will also have a burial at sea at a later date.
The family wishes to thank The Terraces and Hospice of the Valley for their tender care of Alvin. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Hospice of the Valley at 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
