

Arlene Rose Hensiek was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 9, 1926 to William Heincker and Helen Torjesky Heincker and passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on November 3, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona. She married the love of her life, Robert Alfred Hensiek, on June 8, 1946. They lived in a variety of places, including Portland, Oregon and Memphis, Tennessee, due to Robert’s military and professional careers. They moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1959. Robert and Arlene were separated by death on July 24, 1997.
Arlene was active in sorority groups as a young woman and was later employed by the Scottsdale Unified School District and a local Hallmark store. She came to know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior through the ministry of Scottsdale Bible Church and attended there for many years. She was a loving mother, always supporting her children and grandchildren in their activities, including softball, clubs, gymnastics and little league. Family traditions were always special to her. Each year her son, daughters and grandchildren received unique Christmas ornaments, a tradition that continues today in her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Alfred Hensiek, son Brian Robert Hensiek, daughter Marcia Renee Hensiek, and brother William Heincker.
She is survived by her son, Paul Arthur Hensiek (Sharla), of Phoenix, daughter, Laura Marie Hensiek, of Sellersburg, Indiana, sister, MaryAnne McClaren (Frank) of St. Louis, Missouri, grandsons, Jonathan Hensiek (Rachel), David Hensiek (Sarah), and Heath Knight, granddaughters, Shauna Otte (Jonathan) and Heather Knight, along with ten great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered at a visitation Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and a Committal Service Monday, November 21, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. The entrance to the Cemetery is on Pinnacle Peak Road, just to the East of Cave Creek Road. Arrangements under the direction of Shadow Mountain Mortuary, Phoenix, AZ.
