Artie "Art" Demarris Thrower Sr.

He graduated from GCC with an associate degree and served 4 years in the U.S Air Force.

Artie was a valued employee of Lockheed Martin for over 30 years. He was an expert parachute rigger and trained many individuals while working for the company in several states as well as in Saudi Arabia for two years.

He was a great storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor. He truly enjoyed an occasional tall glass of Merlot. He has traveled all around the world and one of his favorite places to go was Disneyland. He made a point to take every one of his grandchildren to Disneyland and many of his friends.

Artie is survived by son Artie Jr (Annette) granddaughter Rebecca, son David Fortney (Diane), grandchildren Zach, Megan, Cody and Wyatt, granddaughter Sarah Miller (Kevin), granddaughter Rachel (Cindy), Tammy (Monica) grandson Nick, Cousins Donnella (Dwight) Cope, Donna (Javier) Montelongo, Bev (Don) McLain, Barb (John) Burke and many other Cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29th at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85022, at 10:00 am, the funeral will begin at 11:00 am. Committal Service with Military Honors will take place at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85024 at 12:30 pm.
